Actual Eddie the Eagle has an exclusive message for The Version readers!
Eddie the Eagle Edwards has an exclusive message for readers of The Version, in support of Sport Relief.
Eddie the Eagle is the official film partner of Sport Relief 2016, which takes place Friday 18th – Sunday 20th March. The partnership has been formed to help Sport Relief raise as much money as possible for people living incredibly tough lives right here at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest communities.
Eddie the Eagle, based on the inspirational true story of ski jumper Michael ‘Eddie the Eagle’ Edwards and his quest to reach the Winter Olympics, is the perfect film partner for Sport Relief with the charity encouraging the public to get involved by signing up to the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games to do themselves proud. Nothing better encapsulates that message than the story of one man who defied the odds and united the country behind him during the 1988 Winter Olympics.
The film’s stars, Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman, will be encouraging everyone across the country to ‘Do the Eagle’ to celebrate a victory – however big or small, personal or public. Based on the iconic ‘bird wing’ movement seen on screen that Eddie made his own during his competition days, everyone is encouraged to film themselves #dotheagle, share online and donate £3 to Sport Relief by texting ‘EAGLE’ to 70703*.
Eddie The Eagle is proud to support Sport Relief. We’re encouraging people to celebrate something and #DoTheEagle and text EAGLE to 70703 to donate £3 to this amazing charity. Check out his exclusive video message, below.
Eddie the Eagle is in cinemas from Easter Monday March 28th.
