London's OXO Tower Brassier delivers a five star experience for an incredible price.

Picture the scene. You're sat overlooking the Thames and the beautifully lit London skyline.  A piano is playing and a guy is sat, perched on a stool crooning classic, relaxed love songs.  You're experiencing five star table service and the food before you is of an exceptional standard.  It would cost you a fortune, right?

Wrong.  Think again, because the OXO Tower Brassiere offers an exquisite experience for an unbelievable price. Not that it's all about the money, because even at twice the price this would be worth it.

We dined at the Oxo Tower Brassiere on an Autumnal evening and began with a fantastic Cornish crab dish, served with toasted sourdough, fennel purée. It was an absolute delight.  We also enjoyed the Warm salad of roasted pigeon breast, with orange, runner beans, walnuts, grain mustard dressing. It was to die for.

For our mains, we absolutely loved the Dingley Dell slow brased pork belly, crackling crumbs, Winter vegetable lentils, tarragon mustard which for just £23 was just unbelievable.  We also enjoyed the Seared scallops, which were served with fondant potato, lardons, and parsley spinach purée and cost just £25.50.   Everything we ate was cooked to perfection and this was fine dining without the tiny portions - we were completely fulfilled by the end of it.  We loved all of it, but we cannot compliment the brassier enough on the brased pork belly which was simply beautiful.

For dessert, we would highly recommend the Popcorn panna cotta with plums, amazing peanut brittle and soft nougat.  The butterscotch cheesecake was equally as good.

Including wine, our bill came in at less than £70 which for such a stunning location and wonderful atmosphere - not to mention five star food - most probably cannot be beaten.
