Joseph Fiennes to play Michael Jackson in Sky Arts comedy drama.
Joseph Fiennes is to play Michael Jackson in a forthcoming comedy drama for Sky Arts.
The plot centres around the aftermath of 9/11, when Michael Jackson, Marlon Brando and Liz Taylor undertook a roadtrip, driving from New York to Ohio in an attempt to get home following the terrorist attacks. It sounds unreal, but it actually happened.
Stockard Channing will play Elizabeth Taylor and Brian Cox will portray Marlon Brando in the one off film which is likely to air next year.
Fiennes said the role would be "challenging" but added “it’s a fun, lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek road trip of what celebrity of that kind is like. But also it’s rather beautiful and poignant about their relationships.”
The film is being made by the new production company set up by The Royle Family star Ralf Little.
