Romesh Ranganathan to replace Jack Dee as The Apprentice: You're Fired! host?

Jack Dee has quit as host of The Apprentice: You're Fired, after just one series.

The comedian, who replaced Dara O'Briain, will not return to the show, which returns to BBC Two in the Autumn.  Whilst no confirmation of his replacement has been announced, it's highly likely to be regular panelist Romesh Ranganathan, whose profile has soared since appearing on the show.

Jack said “It's been a tough decision to leave You're Fired. I'd like to thank The Apprentice team, BBC2, the candidates and the 'Big Man' Lord Sugar himself for making me feel so welcome but now, in keeping with The Apprentice tradition, I am firing myself. Good luck with the next series.”

Alan Tyler, Acting Controller of BBC Entertainment Commissioning said "Jack is one of the most talented comedians in the UK and he very quickly made You're Fired his own. We are really sorry to see him go but we are also delighted to be working with him on a number of other projects."

Jack Dee is busy filming BBC comedy Josh with Josh Widdicombe and he'll continue to host BBC Radio 4's I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue and Jack Dee's Helpdesk on BBC Two.
