Channel 5 have released plot details for this year’s All Creatures Great and Small Christmas Special.

Skeldale House gears up for Christmas and Jimmy’s first birthday, but the usual festive treats are in short supply. Mrs. Hall has crafted a plan to create the perfect Christmas, but her preparations are disrupted by a distressing news bulletin. As she struggles with the unsettling revelation, the Skeldale family rallies around to support her. Meanwhile, a young boy brings an abandoned fox cub to the surgery, and Mrs. Hall finds herself deeply connected to the animal.

Elsewhere, Tristan is assigned a significant mission for the Royal Army Veterinary Corps (RAVC) involving pigeons. Initially unimpressed by the task, he is sent by Siegfried to work with Enoch Sykes, a gruff pigeon enthusiast. However, Tristan’s efforts to win Enoch’s trust don’t go as planned.

Helen and James prepare for Jimmy’s birthday tea at Heston Grange, but Helen finds herself caught in the middle of family tensions.

When the fox cub requires urgent veterinary care, Siegfried faces a tough decision on how to treat the animal while also ensuring Mrs. Hall receives the support she needs.

The show is one of the channel’s highest rated and will return for a full series in the new year.
