The Plot: A former detective turned police dispatcher receives a desperate emergency call from a teenage girl he is convinced is his daughter, who vanished without a trace 11 years prior.
The Star Power: Patrick Brammall (Colin from Accounts) leads an elite ensemble cast alongside Maxine Peake (Say Nothing) and Brendan Cowell (Dune: Prophecy).
Behind the Camera: Adapted by Kris Mrksa from Ryan David Jahn’s acclaimed novel The Dispatcher, directed by Emmy nominee Christian Schwochow (The Crown), and produced by 60Forty Films (Hijack, Slow Horses).
Release Date: Premieres Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with two episodes, followed by weekly drops through October 7.
A Father’s Obsession Ignited
Apple TV+ is doubling down on high-stakes UK and Australian thrillers. Set and filmed in Victoria, Australia, Last Seen promises a gripping, emotionally charged ride centered on police dispatcher Ian Ridley (Brammall).
Eleven years after his young daughter Maggie vanished, destroying his personal life and career, Ian refuses to give up hope. His stubborn belief that she is still alive pays off in the most terrifying way possible: a frantic distress call lands on his console, and he becomes instantly certain the voice on the other end belongs to his long-lost child. What follows is a relentless, off-the-books obsession to bring her home—no matter the cost.
Heavyweight Talent On and Off Screen
Alongside Brammall, the series features a stacked supporting cast including Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall (Mickey 17), Zahra Newman, Jessica Wren, Tobias Muhafidin, and breakout newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes.
The creative team carries serious prestige. Adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s CWA John Creasey Dagger Award-winning novel The Dispatcher, the series is brought to life by writer/executive producer Kris Mrksa (Requiem) and director Christian Schwochow (Bad Banks, Munich: The Edge of War). Executive producers Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta of 60Forty Films are aiming to duplicate the runaway success of their existing Apple TV+ hits like Hijack and Slow Horses.
Last Seen officially joins Apple’s stacked lineup of suspense dramas on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
