Apple TV+ Unveils First Look at Australian Thriller “Last Seen” Ahead of September Premiere
Huge new Apple TV drama Last Seen is launching this September.
Apple TV has released the first look at its upcoming Australian thriller Last Seen, a tense six-episode drama led by Colin from Accounts star Patrick Brammall. Previously titled The Dispatcher, the series is adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s award-winning novel and is set to debut globally on September 9, 2026.
Filmed on location in Victoria, Australia, the suspense-driven series follows police detective Ian Ridley, played by Brammall, whose life shattered more than a decade earlier when his young daughter vanished without explanation. Now working behind the scenes as a police dispatcher, Ridley has never stopped believing she is still alive.
The mystery reignites when Ridley receives an emergency call from a teenage girl whose voice he becomes convinced belongs to his missing daughter, Maggie. Determined to uncover the truth, he launches into a desperate search that threatens to unravel everything around him.
The drama comes from writer and executive producer Kris Mrksa, known for Requiem and No Escape, and is directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Christian Schwochow, whose credits include The Crown and Munich: The Edge of War. Schwochow also serves as executive producer.
Alongside Brammall, the ensemble cast includes Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall, Jessica Wren, Zahra Newman, and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes.
Production is backed by 60Forty Films, the company behind acclaimed thrillers Hijack and Slow Horses, with Joanna Werner of Werner Film Productions also attached as executive producer.
Apple TV+ will launch the series with a two-episode premiere on September 9, followed by weekly episodes through October 7.
The streamer continues expanding its slate of prestige dramas, building on the success of titles including Slow Horses, Hijack, and the recently renewed Down Cemetery Road. In recent years, Apple TV+ has strengthened its reputation in the awards space with acclaimed originals such as Severance, Ted Lasso, and Oscar winner CODA.
Last Seen marks another major international thriller for the platform as Apple deepens its investment in globally produced premium drama.
