If you're planning a trip to London this festive season, Balfour at St Barts is an unmissable gem for food, drink, and atmosphere. Located in the heart of the city, it offers an experience that combines culinary creativity with outstanding service, making it the perfect spot for Christmas cheer. When we visited, office workers were enjoying a social lunch, friends were grabbing a pint and families were taking a break from shopping.
The Lunch Menu – A Taste Sensation
During our visit, we tried two standout dishes: the Londoner Dog and the Brisket Challah Bun. The Londoner Dog features a hot-smoked pork sausage paired with grilled onions, mustard, and ketchup—a delicious twist on a classic that hits all the right notes of smoky and savoury.

A decent hot dog at this time of the year is just the ticket, and this one really impressed. Meanwhile, the Brisket Challah Bun showcases slow-smoked British brisket drenched in a rich chipotle gravy, complemented by pickles for a touch of tang. Both dishes are served with crispy fries and both were really good portions, completing a satisfying and hearty meal that’s perfect for warming up on a chilly London afternoon.
It’s incredible value in London, especially when each dish comes with a drink and it only sets you back £15!
Given the value, I couldn’t help but order a Sundae either which was divine!

The service is attentive and warm, and our staff were so knowledgeable about the drinks we had, explaining everything to us. This kind of service is invaluable, adding a personal touch that makes every guest feel welcome.

There’s also plenty of table space for Christmas parties and a brilliant private bar upstairs that can be hired.
