Country 2 Country gets prime slot on Radio 2
Listeners will be able to listen to Country 2 Country live on BBC Sounds
BBC Radio 2 is to broadcast coverage of Country 2 Country live in the daytime, for the first time.
Marking the astronomic rise in popularity for the genre, the station will broadcast live coverage from the festival in a peak slot - 3pm on Saturday 15 March, 2025.
It means two of Radio 2’s most popular shows, Pick of the Pops and Rylan will make way for Bob Harris’s special programme which comes live from London’s O2 - and from around the UK in Glasgow and Belfast.
As part of a special season, Gethin Jones will also front a country music programme - Gethin’s Guide to Country, which will air the same day at midnight and will also be available to stream on demand via BBC Sounds.
And that’s not all, because Bob will front part 2 of the station’s live Country 2 Country coverage in his usual slot on Sunday 16 March, from 8pm.
C2C: Country to Country is Europe’s biggest country music festival and this year the lineup includes Lainey Wilson, Dylan Gossett, Dierks Bentley, Tyler Hubbard, Cody Johnson, Nate Smith, Shaboozey and Wyatt Flores.
