Channel 4 axe Celebrity Bake Off episode featuring Scott Mills
Scott Mills Bake Off Episode Pulled: Channel 4 Confirms Celebrity Special Won’t Air Amid Allegations
A celebrity episode of The Great British Bake Off featuring DJ Scott Mills will not be broadcast, Channel 4 has confirmed.
The decision follows Mills’ departure from the BBC last month over a historical allegation of serious sexual offences.
Mills has said he "fully co-operated and responded" to an earlier police investigation, which didn't result in criminal charges, and did not want to comment further.
Why Scott Mills’ Bake Off Episode Was Cancelled
The former Radio 2 breakfast host had already filmed The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer, a high-profile charity spin-off of the hit series. However, Channel 4 confirmed it will not air the episode.
In a statement, the broadcaster said it had "carefully considered the circumstances" and "taken the decision not to air" the instalment.
"Acknowledging the seriousness of the accusations that have been made against Scott, we don't believe it would be appropriate to air the episode at this time," Channel 4 said.
"An alternative episode of Celebrity GBBO will go out in its place."
The pulled episode was set to feature a star-studded line-up, including Rag'n'Bone Man, Edith Bowman and Aston Merrygold alongside Mills.
Boyzone Concerts Drop Scott Mills From Line-Up
The fallout continues beyond television. Mills has also been removed from the line-up for Boyzone’s upcoming reunion shows at Emirates Stadium this June.
He had been scheduled to appear as the “special guest DJ” during the band’s Two For The Road concerts. His name has since been removed from official promotional materials, though it remains unclear whether the decision was made by organisers or Mills himself.
Other acts confirmed for the shows include 90s pop favourites S Club and B*Witched.
Charity Roles Affected as Mills Steps Back
Mills is also stepping back from his role as an ambassador for MS Society UK, a position he has held since 2015 following his mother’s diagnosis with multiple sclerosis.
The charity said in a statement: "Scott Mills has been a valued MS Society Ambassador for over 10 years. In light of the current news, Scott is stepping back from this role while we review the situation.
"We take concerns of this nature and the trust placed in us as a charity extremely seriously. Our priority is the MS community and ensuring we can continue to support everyone living with and affected by MS."
Separately, Neuroblastoma UK confirmed last week that it had decided to "part ways" with Mills, who had served as a patron since 2021.
Ongoing Developments
The situation surrounding Scott Mills continues to evolve, with major broadcasters, live events and charities reassessing their associations. The decision to pull the Great British Bake Off celebrity episode marks one of the most significant immediate impacts, removing a highly anticipated instalment from the schedule. It comes after the BBC dropped editions of Top of the Pops, filmed in the 1990's and hosted by Mills that were due to air on BBC Four.
