Channel 5 surprised viewers today by launching it’s brand new name, 5.
Replacing Channel 5 and its catch-up platform My5, 5 is now the name for both, as the channel launches a new campaign connecting watching and streaming, a little like Channel 4 did in 2024. The block logo remains.
Ben Frow, boss at Channel 5 previously explained “We know from the success that so many of our Channel 5 shows have had on Netflix that there’s a huge appetite for our content in the streaming world.”
As we relaunch as 5, our streaming service will be a much bigger and broader offer than My5 with a significantly expanded range of content including new series and box sets in reality, drama, factual and kids from across the Paramount family.”
Alongside fan favourites like All Creatures Great And Small and The Good Ship Murder, fans can now enjoy more content on demand, such as Murder She Wrote, Catfish and Criminal Minds.
5 is using strapline ‘It’s All on 5’ to entice viewers from today.
