Coronation Street opens the doors to the Rovers for special Summer tours
Coronation Street fans are being offered an unprecedented peak behind the television curtain this summer, as ITV Studios opens the doors to one of the most famous TV soundstages on the planet.
For a strictly limited run across August and early September, visitors heading to the Coronation Street Experience will have the chance to step inside the iconic Studio 1—the actual working set where scenes inside the Rovers Return are filmed.
Beyond simply walking through the soundstage, every ticketholder will be invited to step behind the legendary pub's bar to pose for an official photograph. While former landlady Annie Walker might have raised an eyebrow at the intrusion, it represents an ultimate bucket-list moment for die-hard fans of the nation's longest-running soap.
Studio 1 has hosted its fair share of high-profile visitors over the decades, welcoming royalty, world leaders, pop stars, and Hollywood actors through its doors. Now, the space is being opened up to the public for the very first time.
Speaking on the launch, Lou Black, SVP Brand Licensing at ITV Studios, said:
“Although we know the cobbles are the star of the show, our tour operators, Continuum Attractions, are often asked for a look inside a real studio. So we thought what better set to show off than the Queen of the Street, the Rovers Return, it’s the absolute pinnacle for any soap fan to be able to stand behind our legendary bar.
With all the complexities of filming schedules and studio access, it’s fantastic to get to the point where we are able to welcome a limited number of guests into a working studio, and we can’t wait to open up so they can experience walking through those famous doors.”.

Because the set remains an active filming location for the serial drama, access is strictly restricted to select dates.
When: Saturdays throughout August and early September.
