Dean McCullough to host Radio 1 Breakfast Show
The I'm A Celeb favourite will step into Greg James's shoes this Christmas.
Dean McCullough is to present the Radio 1 Breakfast Show over the Christmas period, whilst Greg James takes a well earned break.
Fans of the I’m A Celebrity…. Get Me Out Of Here! campmate will be pleased to know Dean will be presenting the Radio 1 morning show from Monday 20 December.
Joining Radio 1 in 2020 from Gaydio, McCullough brought a fresh and lively approach to the airwaves, drawing fans with his natural ability to connect with audiences. He replaced Scott Mills in the after-lunch slot, before moving to present Early Breakfast which he hosts from Salford.
Dean has quickly become one of the biggest talking points of this year’s I’m A Celeb, having quit what Ant & Dec called one of the show’s “easiest trials”.
He will at least get a lie-in on Christmas morning, when Sam and Danni temporarily take the reigns of the Breakfast Show.
Other highlights on Radio 1 this Christmas will see a raft of amateur DJ’s present shows as part of the station’s annual commitment to new talent.
The station will also broadcast a BBC Proms concert; Florence + The Machine joins Jules Buckley and his Orchestra for a fresh take on the BRIT Award-winning Lungs as part of the special event which fans can hear on Christmas Eve.
