Directed and written by action veteran James Nunn (One Shot trilogy), the pulse-pounding survival horror swaps typical swampland predators for one of nature’s deadliest mammals: a highly aggressive, rampaging hippopotamus.
What Is Hungry About?
Deep in the dense, eerie swamplands of the Louisiana Bayou, a group of unsuspecting tourists embarks on a guided boat tour. Lured off the beaten path by the promise of an exclusive, off-grid adventure, their excursion turns into a nightmare when they become hopelessly lost.
Stranded in murky waters, the group soon realizes they aren’t alone. Lurking in the depths is a ravenous hippo on the loose—and as the territorial beast relentlessly stalks them, the holidaymakers are forced into a desperate fight for survival against one of the planet’s most dangerous animals.
Practical Monster Magic & High-Octane Talent
Rather than relying purely on digital effects, Hungry features practical creature FX crafted by Dan Martin and his renowned studio 13 Finger FX, best known for their work on The Banshees of Inisherin and top-tier British genre cinema. Producer Ben Jacques (One Shot) reteams with Nunn to helm the production.
