ITV to bring 'Deal or No Deal Island' to the UK?
American format could be reworked for a British audience next year.
ITV is reportedly exploring the idea of creating a British version of the hit game show spin-off, Deal or No Deal Island, with an exciting twist on the classic format currently hosted by Stephen Mulhern on ITV1.
In ‘Deal Or No Deal Island’, contestants would venture onto an island where briefcases filled with a staggering prize fund—split between them—are hidden. Players would face daring physical and mental challenges to secure these coveted briefcases, which form the foundation for that night’s Deal or No Deal game.
The player who claims the highest-value briefcase earns immunity and gains a strategic advantage: the power to send one of their competitors into The Temple. There, the chosen player must take on a classic game of Deal or No Deal. A “bad deal” results in immediate elimination, while a “good deal” grants the player control to choose who is eliminated instead.
Throughout the series, winnings from each game are added to a shared prize pot, creating enormous stakes as the season progresses. The last remaining player will face the iconic Banker for a chance to win what could be the largest prize in Deal or No Deal history.
The Banker, as always, looms over the game, orchestrating high-stakes tests of strategy and temptation.
The format is already a hit in America, where it airs on NBC and streams on Peacock. Its first series has been watched by more than 24 million viewers.
ITV are reportedly exploring the format as potential rival to the BBC’s Race Across The World and The Traitors.
It’s understood filming could take place in Australia for a primetime series on ITV1 and ITVX, which could air next year.
