Louis Tomlinson tonight thanked The Brit Awards, calling its tribute to Liam Payne “beautiful”.
In a social media post, he wrote:

Introducing a moving video during tonight’s awards, host Jack Whitehall said:
"He achieved so much in the short time he was on this earth and was not only a supremely gifted musician but an incredibly kind soul and he touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with."
Whitehall, who was a friend of Liam, added: “We have so many amazing memories of Liam here at the BRITS so tonight we celebrate his legacy by looking back and remembering the remarkable Liam Payne.”
Fans took to social media to say the tribute left them sobbing.
