Neighbours AXED! Prime pulls plug on Australian soap.

Neighbours has been axed for a second time.

Neighbours has been axed with production due to end this Summer, The Sun reports.

Apparently Prime Video has pulled the plug after disappointing ratings, and it comes just two years after the platform saved the iconic Aussie soap after Channel 5 scrapped it.

A source said: “Amazon gave Fremantle two years to see if it worked but sadly they just didn’t get the viewers.

“It’s a really sad day especially for the cast and crew who work on the show in Melbourne.

“This really is the end of Neighbours just as it’s celebrated it’s 40th birthday.”

The Sun says production company Freemantle have been given the news, but it is not yet known if the cast have been officially told.

Neighbours is likely to run until the end of 2025 and no further, unless another broadcaster steps in.
