HBO Drops Spellbinding New Teaser for ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ Series Ahead of Christmas 2026 Premiere
HBO has officially released the second teaser trailer for its highly anticipated television adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, offering fans an extended glimpse into the reimagined Wizarding World. The eight-episode first season is set to debut over Christmas 2026 on HBO, and will be available to stream exclusively on Max across the UK and Ireland.
The fresh footage previews the journey of young Harry Potter, who spends his early years believing his Aunt Petunia’s assertions that there is nothing special about him. Everything changes when a mysterious letter of admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry arrives, sweeping Harry away from the Dursleys and into a world of magic, friendship, and perilous secrets. As dark forces stir behind the castle’s enchanted walls, Harry is forced to find the courage to confront the ultimate evil.
Leading the fresh-faced cast as the central trio are Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.
They are joined by an all-star ensemble of British acting heavyweights and seasoned talent portraying the iconic Hogwarts staff and adult figures:

Based on J.K. Rowling’s world-renowned book series, the upcoming show is showrun, written, and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner (Succession). Mark Mylod (The Menu, Succession) serves as executive producer and directs multiple episodes.
