Trailer drops for massive new crime drama, Hit Point
U has released a first look trailer for Hit Point, a high stakes crime thriller coming this Summer.
UKTV has released first-look images from its upcoming six-part police thriller Hit Point, offering an early glimpse at what is set to be a high-energy addition to its programming slate. The series stars Nick Blood and Saffron Hocking in the lead roles, and will be available to stream on U while also airing on U&Dave. The project marks a significant move for the broadcaster as it ventures into original scripted drama.
Produced by Urban Myth Films—the team behind series such as Paris Has Fallen and The Lazarus Project—the show is co-financed by CANAL+, with STUDIOCANAL overseeing global distribution. The drama is expected to premiere this summer.
The series is written by BAFTA-winning screenwriter Howard Overman, known for his work on Misfits and The War of the Worlds, and directed by David Caffrey, whose credits include The Gentlemen and Peaky Blinders.
Hit Point follows detectives Leo and Bella, played by Blood and Hocking, as they navigate a complex case that draws them into the criminal underworld of West London. As the investigation intensifies, their personal and professional lives become increasingly intertwined, with shifting loyalties, unexpected betrayals and emotional stakes driving the narrative.
Blending fast-paced action with moments of dark humour and romance, the series aims to deliver a mix of crime thriller tension and character-driven storytelling. The supporting cast includes William Abadie, Brendan Coyle, Peter Serafinowicz, Nadia Parkes, Moe Bar-El, Ossian Perret and Joshua Sher.
The project has been commissioned by Helen Perry, head of drama commissioning at UKTV, and ordered by Emma Tibbetts and Hilary Rosen. Executive producers include Johnny Capps, Julian Murphy and Overman for Urban Myth Films, alongside Perry for UKTV.
As part of its international rollout, CANAL+ has already secured the rights to broadcast the series across more than 50 territories, spanning Europe, Africa and Asia.
U&Dave, the free-to-air channel behind the launch, is known for its original entertainment programming, including titles such as Will & Ralf Should Know Better, Guy Martin: Proper Jobs, Silence is Golden and the BAFTA-winning Big Zuu’s Big Eats.
