Channel 4 is flinging open the doors to the most exclusive (and fleeting) local in the country with the arrival of Live from the Lycett Arms, kicking off this Friday night at 10:00 PM.
Broadcasting direct from a bespoke, technicolour, paisley-carpeted boozer, the new weekly extravaganza is only open for one hour a week. Designed as a chaotic sanctuary where viewers and locals alike can escape the news cycle and put the world to rights, the series promises a unfiltered love letter to the great British pub where anything can—and likely will—happen live on air.
Overseeing the anarchy is pub landlord Joe Lycett, who won’t be tackling the shift alone. Each week, a brave celebrity guest will step up for a high-stakes trial shift as pub manager, attempting to keep the pint glasses full and the chaos contained.
For the grand opening this Friday, broadcaster Sara Cox takes the reins as the maiden pub manager, swapping the radio studio for the taps. Joining her at the bar is comedian Guz Khan, who will be pulling up a stool alongside a colorful mix of star-studded pubgoers and eccentric regulars.
With the clock ticking from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the wheels threaten to come off at any second. Grab a crisp packet, settle in, and tune into Channel 4 this Friday at 10:00 PM for the ultimate one-hour last orders.
