Sky unveil trailer for Chris McCausland's new comedy, 'Bad Timings'
Strictly favourite stars alongside Lee Mack in the festive special.
Sky has released the official trailer for its 2024 Christmas special, Bad Tidings, starring Chris McCausland, Lee Mack, and Rebekah Staton. Written by the BAFTA-winning team of Laurence Rickard and Martha Howe-Douglas (Ghosts, Horrible Histories), alongside Chris McCausland, Bad Tidings will debut this Christmas on Sky and streaming service NOW.
About Bad Tidings
It’s the week before Christmas, and Stockport home security expert Neil (Lee Mack) is at odds with his neighbor, Scott (Chris McCausland). Scott is the ultimate nuisance—he swaps their bins, complains about Neil’s project car sitting in the driveway, and has left his Christmas lights up all year, glaring into Neil’s home office. To make matters worse, Scott is blind, and the rest of the neighborhood adores him.
When the community nominates Scott to lead Neighbourhood Watch, Neil reaches his breaking point. He questions Scott’s ability to take on the role (“It’s Neighbourhood Watch!”), igniting a petty feud that escalates until Neil inadvertently knocks out the power for the entire street—on Christmas Eve.
With everyone else, including Neil’s family, forced to take their Christmas celebrations elsewhere, Neil and Scott are left alone in the dark. Their night takes a wild turn when a notorious local crime family, “The Brennans,” targets the street for an epic holiday heist (“It’s like Santa in reverse”). The unlikely duo must join forces to thwart the burglars. Armed with nothing but their wits—and Scott’s blindness, which might actually work in their favor—they take on the challenge of saving Christmas for the neighborhood.

Bad Tidings also stars Sarah Alexander, Ben Crompton, Emily Coates, Josiah Eloi, Millie Kiss, Tupele Dorgu, Sunil Patel, and Donna Preston.
